MISSION

Why Not Be The Change You Wish To See In The World?

Generation Y Not is a teen organization founded by Courtney Lenoir in 2005. Our mission is to educate and inspire peers about important global issues that threaten the future of today's youth. The group has reached out in creative ways to raise community awareness about these issues using the Millennium Development Goals as a framework. Generation Y Not has successfully organized fund-raising efforts to assist grassroots organizations in the community and around the world that are working to make positive strides in the areas of poverty, education, disease, peace and social justice.

Millennium Development Goals

In 2000, 189 countries including the US, came together and made a promise to make the world a better place for all people by agreeing to achieve the goals stated below. Achieving the MGGs by 2015 means that we can:

1. End Extreme Poverty and Hunger

2..Achieve Universal Primary Education

3.Promote Gender Equality

4.Reduce Child Mortality

5.Improve Maternal Health

6.Combat HIV/Aids and Malaria

7. Ensure Environmental Sustainability

8. Develop Global Partnerships
